Callum Hudson-Odoi drove Nottingham Forest to a 3-0 Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground.

The result was important for the table, but it also carried the feel of a complete home performance. Forest had been under pressure in the lower part of the league, and Tottenham arrived with enough quality to make the afternoon dangerous if the home side allowed them rhythm.

Hudson-Odoi gave Forest the lead after Guglielmo Vicario’s poor pass left Archie Gray in trouble and Ibrahim Sangaré won the ball high before squaring for a close-range finish. Early in the second half, Hudson-Odoi struck again when his cross-shot from the left carried over Vicario and into the net.

Sangaré then completed the 3-0 win with a superb strike from distance that went in via the post, capping an excellent individual display after assisting both of Hudson-Odoi’s goals. John Victor also made an important save from Archie Gray as Forest protected the clean sheet.

The victory moved Forest five points clear of the relegation zone and gave supporters a rare modern league rout over Spurs to savour.
