Fans unveil Made in 1865 display
On this day in Nottingham Forest history in 2018 supporter group Forza Garibaldi unveiled its Made in 1865 display before the Derby match at the City Ground.
Forza Garibaldi, the Nottingham Forest supporter group known for organising large-scale fan displays and banners, unveiled its Made in 1865 display before Forest faced Derby County at the City Ground.
The display leaned into Forest’s identity as one of English football’s oldest clubs, using the year of the club’s foundation as a proud supporter slogan. It was designed as a derby-day statement, linking the club’s history with the modern matchday atmosphere created by fans in the stands.
The match itself ended 0–0, but the phrase later became even more visible at the City Ground when “Made in 1865” was incorporated into the Trent End, giving the slogan a more permanent place in the stadium’s visual identity. The display is remembered as one of Forza Garibaldi’s important early contributions to the supporter culture around Forest.
