Billy Davies sacked again
On this day in 2014 Forest sack Billy Davies for the second time.
Billy Davies’ second spell as Nottingham Forest manager ended two days after a damaging East Midlands derby defeat.
The 5-0 loss at Derby County had already left supporters frustrated and embarrassed. For a manager whose relationship with the club had always carried intensity, the timing of the dismissal made the ending feel especially sharp.
Davies had returned to Forest with history behind him, including a previous spell that had brought play-off pushes but also tension. His second departure closed another difficult chapter, with the club again left searching for stability and direction.
For supporters, the sacking was tied closely to the derby result that came just before it. Managerial changes are common in football, but losing heavily to Derby gave this one a harsher edge and made the end feel almost unavoidable.
