Arnaud Kalimuendo joined Forest from Rennes as the club continued to strengthen for a season that included Premier League and European football.

The French striker arrived on a five-year deal widely reported at around £25m–£26m after building his reputation in Ligue 1. He had scored 40 goals in 112 appearances for Rennes, including 18 goals in the 2024-25 season, giving Forest a forward with recent top-level scoring form.

The signing came during a busy transfer period. Forest had finished seventh in the Premier League in 2024-25 and were preparing for their first European campaign since the 1990s, so the squad needed greater depth and variety.

Kalimuendo’s profile made the move interesting. He was still only 23, had come through the Paris Saint-Germain academy, and had also been part of France’s Olympic silver-medal squad in 2024.

Kalimuendo’s Forest spell began with limited impact, though he did score in Europe during a 3-0 win over Malmö in November 2025. In January 2026, he joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the end of the season, with the deal reported to include an option to buy.
