Palace draw slows European chase
On this day in 2025 Forest draw at Crystal Palace as the European chase tightens.
Nottingham Forest’s push for Europe slowed with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The match carried a different kind of pressure from the club’s recent survival battles. Forest were chasing a place among the Premier League’s European qualifiers, and every point felt valuable in a tight race.
Palace went ahead from the penalty spot in the second half, but Forest replied within minutes. Neco Williams drove a shot towards goal, and Murillo redirected it into the net to give Nuno Espírito Santo’s side a way back into the game.
The draw felt useful but frustrating. Palace had late moments of danger, including a disallowed goal and a shot against the crossbar, but Forest still left with a point from a difficult away fixture.
For supporters, it kept the season moving, yet it also underlined how narrow the margins had become. Forest were still in the European conversation, but every dropped point now carried weight.
