Nottingham Forest completed a rare league double over Manchester United with a tense 1-0 win at the City Ground.

Anthony Elanga scored the decisive goal against his former club, and it was not a routine finish. He collected the ball deep inside the Forest half, carried it around 85 yards at full speed, drove straight through United territory, and finished past the goalkeeper after only five minutes.

That moment shaped the night. Forest had something to protect, and the rest of the match became a test of discipline, concentration, and defensive control. The result carried extra weight because it followed Forest’s earlier victory at Old Trafford, turning two separate wins into a notable season achievement.

For supporters, the significance was not only the scoreline. Manchester United remained one of English football’s biggest names, and completing a league double over them underlined how far Forest had moved in their 2024-25 campaign.

The final whistle confirmed more than three points. It gave Forest a first league double over Manchester United since the 1991-92 season and added another memorable night to a campaign already full of belief.
