7-1 away rout at Sheff Wed
On this day in Nottingham Forest history in 1995 Forest record a 7-1 Premier League away win at Sheffield Wednesday.
Nottingham Forest produced one of the most extraordinary away wins of the Premier League era by beating Sheffield Wednesday 7-1 at Hillsborough.
The tone was set early. Stuart Pearce opened the scoring with a direct free-kick, and Ian Woan quickly made it 2-0 with a long-range strike. Forest already had control by half-time, but the afternoon became even more ruthless after the break.
Bryan Roy scored twice, either side of Mark Bright’s penalty for Wednesday, before Stan Collymore added two late goals of his own. Lars Bohinen then completed the scoring, turning a heavy away win into a result that looked almost unreal on the scoreboard.
For Forest supporters, it was the kind of result that lived long in the memory because it felt so unusual. Away wins are usually celebrated for grit and control; this one became famous for pace, confidence, and clinical finishing.
The 7-1 final score turned the afternoon into a landmark Premier League away performance. It showed Forest at their sharpest in a strong 1994-95 season and gave the travelling support a result they could talk about for years.
