Wood and Nuno earn awards double
On this day in 2024 Chris Wood and Nuno Espírito Santo complete a Forest Premier League awards double.
Chris Wood and Nuno Espírito Santo gave Forest a rare Premier League awards double after an outstanding October.
Wood was named Premier League Player of the Month after scoring four goals in three appearances, helping Forest draw at Chelsea, beat Crystal Palace, and win the East Midlands derby at Leicester City. He became the first Forest player and the first New Zealander to win the award.
Nuno was named Premier League Manager of the Month after Forest went unbeaten and took seven points from nine. The run included back-to-back league wins, a sign that the side was becoming more settled and harder to beat.
The double award captured the feeling around Forest at that moment. Wood’s finishing and Nuno’s organisation had turned a good month into a statement, and the club’s Premier League profile felt stronger than it had for years.
