Carlos Miguel arrives from Corinthians
On this day in 2024 Forest sign Carlos Miguel from Corinthians.
Carlos Miguel joined Nottingham Forest from Corinthians as the club added another goalkeeper to its Premier League squad.
The Brazilian signed a four-year deal, arriving with a physical presence and a different football background from many of the players already at the club. At 6ft 8in, he was an unusual and intriguing addition, but Forest already had strong competition in goal.
The move never really developed into a first-team breakthrough. Carlos Miguel did not make a Premier League appearance for Forest and played only three times in cup competitions, with Matz Sels established as the club’s main goalkeeper.
His Forest spell ended after just one season, when he returned to Brazil to join Palmeiras in August 2025. What began as an interesting piece of international recruitment became a short stay, remembered more for its potential than for anything he was able to establish at the City Ground.
