Brennan Johnson and Steve Cooper were both recognised by the EFL after a superb April that kept Forest’s promotion push moving.

Johnson won the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award, underlining his growing importance in a team full of momentum. His pace, direct running and end product had become central to the way Forest attacked under Cooper.

Cooper was named Championship Manager of the Month, another marker of the transformation he had led since arriving earlier in the season. Forest had moved from the bottom end of the table into serious promotion contention, and April strengthened the sense that something special was building.

The awards arrived during a period when the City Ground felt full of belief again. They were individual honours, but they reflected a collective surge: a young academy talent thriving and a manager reshaping the mood of the club.

For supporters, the double recognition captured the feeling of that spring. Forest were no longer just improving; they were chasing a return to the Premier League.
