Nottingham Forest were held to a 0-0 draw by ten-man Swansea City in the Championship play-off semi-final first leg at the City Ground.

The match shifted almost immediately when Swansea left-back Neil Taylor was sent off after just over a minute for a challenge on Lewis McGugan. For Forest, the opportunity was clear: they had home advantage, a man advantage, and a chance to take control of the tie before travelling to Wales.

The frustration was that the goal never came. Forest pushed, but Swansea reorganised, with Garry Monk introduced early as Brendan Rodgers reshaped his side. The visitors defended with discipline, while Forest struggled to turn pressure into the decisive moment.

For supporters, the final whistle brought irritation more than disaster. The tie was still alive, but the 0-0 scoreline felt like a missed chance. That feeling grew stronger in the second leg, when Swansea won 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium and went through by the same aggregate score, leaving Forest with another painful play-off exit.
