Peter Taylor Stand officially unveiled
On this day in 2015 Forest officially rename the Main Stand as the Peter Taylor Stand.
Nottingham Forest officially unveiled the Peter Taylor Stand, renaming the Main Stand in honour of one of the most important figures in the club’s history.
Taylor was far more than Brian Clough’s assistant. His judgement of players, eye for balance and working partnership with Clough helped shape the team that rose from the Second Division to become champions of England and then champions of Europe.
The stand naming gave permanent recognition to that contribution at the City Ground. The ceremony was attended by Taylor’s family and friends, placing his name into the fabric of the stadium rather than leaving his role to be remembered only through books, interviews and old footage.
For Forest supporters, the unveiling turned a familiar part of the ground into a daily reminder of the Clough-Taylor partnership. It gave Taylor’s contribution a visible home at the stadium where the club’s greatest era unfolded.
