Jason Lee double beats Man City
On this day in 1995 Forest beat Manchester City 3-0 at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest produced a clear Premier League home win by beating Manchester City 3-0 at the City Ground.
Jason Lee gave Forest the perfect start, scoring after 10 minutes with Bryan Roy involved in the move. Lee struck again early in the second half to put Forest firmly in control, before Steve Stone added the third late on from an Ian Woan assist.
The result showed the attacking variety in Frank Clark’s side. Lee provided the direct finishing, Roy and Woan supplied creativity, and Stone’s late goal gave the scoreline a decisive feel.
For supporters, it was the kind of home performance that made the mid-1990s Forest side enjoyable to watch. The club were back in the Premier League, had recently returned to European competition, and on afternoons like this the City Ground still felt capable of producing confident, front-foot football.
