Forest appointed the former Tottenham Hotspur manager after Nuno Espírito Santo’s dismissal, turning to a coach known for bold attacking football and recent Europa League success with Spurs. The appointment came at a striking moment: Forest had qualified for Europe, but had also just removed the manager who had taken them there.
Postecoglou’s arrival suggested a clear change of direction. His footballing ideas were very different from Nuno’s, and he stepped into a squad expected to handle domestic demands alongside a return to continental competition.
