Wood and Gibbs-White nominated
On this day in 2025 Wood and Gibbs-White earn Premier League award nominations.
Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White were named among the nominees for the Premier League Player of the Season award, a major recognition of Forest’s outstanding campaign.
Wood’s nomination reflected his goalscoring influence and his importance as the focal point of the attack. His finishing gave Forest a reliable edge, especially in tight games where chances had to be taken.
Gibbs-White’s place on the shortlist recognised a different kind of importance. He had become one of the team’s creative leaders, linking midfield and attack with personality, invention and responsibility.
For Forest supporters, seeing two players nominated for one of the Premier League’s major individual awards carried real weight. It showed how far the club had come from simply fighting to establish itself back in the top flight.
The nominations were also a sign of wider respect. Forest players were not just being noticed locally; they were being discussed among the league’s standout performers.
