Anthony Elanga arrived from Manchester United as Nottingham Forest added pace and direct running to their Premier League attack.

The Sweden international signed a five-year deal, giving Forest a young forward with top-flight experience and room to develop. His speed immediately stood out as a quality that could suit a side often looking to break quickly against strong opposition.

Elanga went on to justify the excitement. Across two seasons, he made 82 appearances for Forest, scoring 11 goals and providing 21 assists. His best spell came in the 2024-25 European qualification season, when his direct running and final ball made him one of the team’s most dangerous attacking outlets.

One of his clearest moments came against Aston Villa in December 2024, when he scored a stoppage-time winner at the City Ground after Elliot Anderson forced an error from Matty Cash. It was exactly the kind of quick, decisive attacking moment Forest had hoped he could provide.

For supporters, the signing aged well. Elanga arrived as a promising wide attacker, became an important Premier League performer, and later left for Newcastle United in a move that underlined how much his value had grown.
