Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Hull City 2-1 at the City Ground, continuing the surge under Steve Cooper.

Hull led through Keane Lewis-Potter shortly before half-time, but Forest responded after the break. Lewis Grabban levelled from the penalty spot after Alex Mighten was brought down, showing the calm authority expected from the club captain.

The winner came from Brennan Johnson in the 72nd minute. Grabban drove down the right and sent over a deep cross, and Johnson controlled the chance before steering an eight-yard finish into the bottom corner. It was a composed goal from a young player becoming increasingly important to the team.

The result extended Forest’s unbeaten run in the Championship and moved them to within a point of the play-off places. At the time, it felt like another sign that Cooper’s side had changed mood completely from the difficult start to the season.
