Peter Taylor Stand plans announced
On this day in 2019 Forest announce major City Ground expansion plans.
Nottingham Forest announced major plans to redevelop the Peter Taylor Stand and increase the City Ground’s capacity.
The proposal centred on replacing the existing stand with a new structure as part of a wider stadium project. The plans also included improved facilities, hospitality space, a museum, a new club shop and upgrades intended to modernise the matchday experience.
For supporters, the announcement pointed towards a long-term future at the City Ground. The stadium had always been central to Forest’s identity, but the club also needed a ground capable of meeting modern demands.
The project did not move quickly, with later delays, planning issues and revised stadium ambitions extending the story well beyond the original announcement. Even so, the 2019 plans marked an important public step in Forest’s attempt to reshape the Peter Taylor Stand and expand the club’s home.
