Lolley opens account at QPR
On this day in Nottingham Forest history in 2018 Forest score five at QPR as Joe Lolley gets his first club goal.
Nottingham Forest produced one of their most entertaining away wins of the 2017–18 Championship season by beating Queens Park Rangers 5–2 at Loftus Road.
Lee Tomlin scored twice, with his first coming after Joe Lolley teed him up to finish coolly. Tomlin then helped create Lolley’s first Forest goal early in the second half, collecting Matty Cash’s pass after QPR failed to clear and dinking the ball towards Lolley, who made no mistake.
QPR responded through Massimo Luongo and Matt Smith, but Forest had enough attacking threat to keep the game away from them. Cash restored the three-goal cushion after Alex Smithies failed to hold Kieran Dowell’s shot, before Ben Brereton sealed the win by turning away from Jack Robinson and firing into the far corner.
The result stood out because Forest did not simply edge an away game. They scored five, shared the goals around, and gave supporters an early glimpse of the impact Lolley could have in a red shirt.
