Walker double extends QPR hoodoo
On this day in 2017 Forest beat QPR 4–0 as Tyler Walker scores twice in the Championship.
Nottingham Forest extended Queens Park Rangers’ miserable City Ground record with a 4–0 Championship win shaped by Tyler Walker’s finishing and Barrie McKay’s influence.
QPR had started brightly, but Forest struck first on the break. Kieran Dowell released Walker into the box, and the striker recovered from a heavy first touch to drive a precise finish beyond Alex Smithies.
Dowell made it 2–0 before half-time, rounding Smithies after being fed by Ben Osborn and finding the gap between defenders on the line. After the break, Osborn’s cross picked out McKay at the far post, where he drove in Forest’s third.
Walker completed the scoring in the 84th minute, attacking another McKay cross and hammering the ball into the net. The result extended QPR’s winless run at Forest to 34 visits and set a Football League record for the worst run by any side at one venue.
