Earnshaw double in QPR 5-0 rout
On this day in Nottingham Forest history in 2010 Robert Earnshaw scores twice as Forest hit five past Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.
Forest beat Queens Park Rangers 5-0 at the City Ground in the Championship, a heavy home win during Billy Davies’ promotion chase.
Robert Earnshaw gave Forest the lead with a direct free-kick then scored again from Paul Anderson’s pass. Dexter Blackstock made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Earnshaw had been fouled.
Forest added two more after half-time. Chris Cohen scored a left-footed fourth from a James Perch pass, before Perch made it 5-0 after Cohen’s shot created the chance.
The result strengthened Forest’s place near the top of the Championship. They finished third that season, but the promotion push ended in the play-offs against Blackpool.
