Nottingham Forest earned an East Midlands derby away win by beating Derby County 2-1 in League Division One.
Winning at Derby has always carried its own feeling for Forest supporters. Away derby victories are not only about league points. They bring pride, relief and the satisfaction of leaving a rival ground with the result.
Richardson gave Forest the lead after 20 minutes, and Ian Storey-Moore added the second in the 81st minute. Derby pulled one back late through Kevin Hector, but Forest held on to take a 2-1 win at the Baseball Ground.
The victory sits as a strong derby marker from the early 1970s. Forest went to Derby, won 2-1, and took the bragging rights from a fixture where the emotional value often stretches well beyond the table.
